Felician Children’s Center – Helping Children Make Strides
Recently, Tracy Smith-Jackson, President of Felician Children’s Center, shared a video of a student with us. A foster child who was in the program at FCC prior to the pandemic and had significant developmental delays returned to FCC two years later and is making great strides. The compassionate care at FCC leads to transformation for children like this.
HNMCS Donates Books
HNMCS’s JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Council, under the leadership of longtime HNMCS teacher Karen Kozma, was thrilled to deliver 348 children’s books to The Children’s Book Bank last month. HNMCS seeks to have a transformative impact on its community.

Madonna University Hosts Career Event
Madonna put a focus on equity and inclusion in the workplace with their recent: Are you ready? Career Readiness and the Workplace Series event. The event was inspired by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) “Student Competencies for a Career-Ready Workforce” and was hosted by the Mosaic Leadership Academy and the Office of Career Development. According to Madonna, “the event featured a panel of experienced professionals who discussed Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging practices in the workplace. The panelists shared their insights on how to identify and inquire about company practices surrounding DEIB at the job search and interview stages, understanding barriers to accessibility, the need for advocacy in the workplace, and courageous conversation tips and tricks for young professionals . . . the event was also an opportunity for students to network and connect with other professionals in attendance, including Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Jesse Cox, members of the Transitions Center, and the International Students/Study Abroad office.”

Angela Hospice Helps People Get to the “Next Place”
Angela Hospice shared a touching story on their recent blog regarding how a nurse there supported a fellow parishioner at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral who had come to church looking ill. After developing a relationship with this woman, “Sophia,” an Angela Hospice nurse was able to help her get care though Angela Hospice’s Good Samaritan Fund.
