Enfield Montessori and Chiaravalle Academy Celebrate the International Day of Peace

On September 21st, Enfield Montessori School and Chiaravalle Academy embraced the International Day of Peace by assembling students to spell out the word PEACE on the school’s lawn. OLSH Honors Mission & Heritage Week by Telling the Deep Story

With the support of OLSH’s Mission Leader Phil McCarren and other faculty members, OLSH developed beautiful videos outlining the humble beginnings of St. Francis and Blessed Mary Angela. OLSH shared these videos broadly across Facebook (link below to see both videos) in order to tell the deep story of the origins of the religious congregations which OLSH works so hard to embody today. Visitors to OLSH can often sense a deep embodiment of the Felician Franciscan identity; these videos help to further articulate it for a greater audience.

Pilgrimage 2023: Deepening the Franciscan Culture of the Ministries

The last two weeks of September 2023, Felician pilgrims from Toronto, Buffalo, Chicago, Livonia, Beaver Falls, their neighboring regions, and other far off places convened in Rome and Assisi for a Franciscan pilgrimage. Under the servant leadership style of Fr. Andre Cirino, OFM, and S Suzanne Marie Kush, pilgrims assembled for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to deepen their Franciscan understanding. Pilgrims visited sacred sites like the lepresario, the baptismal font where St. Francis and St. Clare were baptized, Greccio, the Capuchin church where St. Felix was buried, Vatican City for a papal audience, and much more. As always, the hosts in Assisi and the pilgrimage leaders threw out a warm, engaging welcome to all the guests, and everyone’s knowledge and appreciation for the Franciscan heritage has grown.
