FSCCC St. Mary Child Care Center – Joy of Music

Teachers certainly brought about spirited joy in their work during music week! SMCCC’s music week encore included a “Spring” melody brought to the students by SMCCC’s finest musicians! Everyone had fun singing along and dancing to some old-time favorites. A special thank you to Ms. Tina, Ms. Chris and Ms. Megan, who kicked off the magical musical tour!

OLSH Brings Blessed Carlo Acutis’ Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit to the Community

OLSH invited the entire community to tour the Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit at OLSH this recently. Blessed Carlo Acutis (1991-2006) combined his love for the Eucharist and his computer skills to create a website (http://www.miracolieucaristici.org/en/liste/list.html) that highlights the various Eucharistic miracles throughout the world. OLSH students viewed an exhibit that displays these miracles and a first-class relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis during Theology classes. The entire community was invited to participate. Bishop Waltersheid made this event at OLSH possible. Bishop Waltersheid even blessed some members of the OLSH community personally with the relic of BL Carlo Acutis.

Villa Maria College Feeds My Starving Children

Villa Maria College students have so many opportunities to get out of the classroom and get some actual life experience. This group, for example, spent time volunteering with Feed My Starving Children. They shared their experiences with the Villa community by making a video, painting, brochure, and poster.

Friends of Felician Village Bring Joy

Bethany Lutheran School (WELS) – Manitowoc, WI, a friend to Felician Village, recently assembled and donated blessing bags for Felician Village’s skilled nursing and assisted living residents. The school’s thoughtfulness provided many smiles. The blessing bags said, “We love because He first loved us.” This project demonstrates the importance of fraternitas or building relationships with community partners in ministry.

Walking Together to the Mission Leader Forum

Felician Services recently hosted the Mission Leader Forum as the Heritage Center in Livonia. Located near Madonna University, this beautiful facility provides a modern, friendly, and green space to host events. Together, Mission Leaders examined the Elements of Felician-Franciscan Spirituality. The Mission Integration Team (MIT) invited Bishop Joseph Perry to educate the Mission Leaders regarding the Venerable Augustus Tolton. Mission Leaders also learned more about truth, reconciliation, and healing with indigenous peoples. The Mission Leaders enjoyed meals, conversations, and liturgy in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mother Chapel as well. This was the first time that MIT has taken the forum on the road, and they look forward to hosting future Mission Leader Forums to deepen the Felician-Franciscan tradition.
