Early Childhood Education

Felician Children’s Center expressed deep gratitude for a generous donation of diapers, wipes, clothing, and other essentials. The drive was organized by the Knights of Columbus and the Christian Services Committee of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The gifts will support local families, easing immediate needs and strengthening community care.
Montessori Center of Our Lady summer camp elementary students walked to the convent to deliver a kindness quilt, a project they voted to gift to the sisters. They also placed prayer petitions in the chapel. The visit concluded with thanks to Sister Joyce and Sister Juanita for warmly welcoming the students and celebrating their generosity.

K-12 Education

St. Joseph Academy hosted a leadership team held a retreat themed “Win Your Race at Your Pace.” Emphasizing perseverance, they pledged support for staff, students, and families. Dr. Reed, facilitator, energized attendees with “I Got That! V-I-C-T-O-R-Y.” A go-kart finale echoed the theme. SJA leaders enter the school year seeking unity and victory.
OLSH thanked S Jeremy Marie Midura of Felician Services Inc. for sharing the story of Blessed Mary Angela, foundress of the Felician Sisters of North America. The Felician Sisters welcomed the community to their cemetery to honor predecessors and shared lunch. The school year begins centered on Blessed Angela’s enduring charism daily.

Higher Education Ministries

Madonna University welcomed students back to campus with their annual convocation and cookout while Felician University rolled out the red carpet to orient students.
Villa Maria College, in a commitment to racial justice, invited community members to a screening of “And a Shot Rang Out,” a documentary examining the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre’s historical context. Following the film, educator-historian Dr. Barbara Seals-Nevergold and videographer Tala Harden—whose research and work informed the project— led a discussion, deepening understanding and encouraging dialogue and reflection.

Senior Living and Health Care Ministries

Angela Hospice marked National Dog Day by honoring therapy dogs and handlers who comfort patients, families, and staff. Through the Pet Therapy Program—from bedside visits to tail wags brightening Camp Monarch—these companions heal with presence. The organization celebrated dogs as helpers, healers, and friends, thanking them for uplifting the community.
Felician Village celebrated and honored nearly 140 years of Felician Sister presence at Felician Village in Manitowoc. You can view this special video here.
Villa St Francis celebrated their 35th Anniversary which included residents presenting a project that they had been working on for months – a Jenga Block Cross. They all worked so hard on it.
St. Anne Home invited nursing students from St. Vincent College to see how St. Anne Home brings about the great legacy of Felician care to the people they serve.
Marywood Nursing Care Center shared some beautiful words from the family of a former resident which speaks to the compassionate care that Marywood delivers.

Social Service Ministries

Felician Center Inc’s friends at St. Michael’s delivered a U-Haul of donations to Felician Center, Kingstree, on July 22. Fourteen volunteers brought 6,500 food items plus diapers, shoes, socks, and clothing. Earlier, The Waters Group donated 3,000 apparel items and water bottles for school closets.
Senator María Elena Durazo visited the Early Childhood Education Center at St. Anne’s Family Services, affirming her long-standing support for families. She read to children and listened as four mothers shared how ECE programming strengthened their lives. The visit offered reflection and gratitude. Staff thanked the senator for her service and leadership to the community.
The newly formed St. Clare Foundation launched to strengthen youth behavioral health in Centralia, Illinois. Executive director Clare Kessler says the foundation will serve as funder, ambassador, and facilitator. Honoring the Felician Sisters’ legacy, it will partner locally to expand community resources and holistic prevention and care for individuals ages 5–18.
St. Felix Centre opened Hope House: 31 supportive, affordable apartments for women and women with children experiencing homelessness or intimate partner violence. This building includes barrier-free units and five reserved for Indigenous women. Seventeen units are assigned. Residents receive casework, referrals, and programming. Congratulations to St. Felix Centre!
St. Felix Pantry partnered with Hunt.Fish.Feed, Sportsman Channel’s outreach program, which highlights game meat and fish to feed neighbors in need. Hunt.Fish.Feed partnered with St. Felix on June 3 to serve a hearty meal in Rio Rancho. Volunteers and friends enjoyed food and fellowship for a cause. Thanks to Comcast for helping make the evening possible.
