About the Lawsuit Reporting Protocol
What is the lawsuit reporting protocol?
In January 2016, Felician Services (FSI) introduced the Felician Sponsored Ministries Lawsuit Reporting Protocol. This Protocol meets the requirements of the Reserved Powers and the Constitutions of the Felician Sisters.
By the third Friday of each February, FSI asks each Ministry to provide FSI with a listing of all lawsuits, as litigant or defendant, from January 1st hrough December 31st of the prior year.
FSI brief update on all open lawsuits, new filings since the prior report, and the status of any settled or outstanding matters as of the reporting date.
Every Felician Sponsored Ministry must complete the Lawsuit Reporting Protocol
A ministry’s response will fall into one of several categories:
- Option A: No new lawsuits reported, but the ministry has updates on previously existing lawsuits
- Option B: No new lawsuits reported and no previously existing lawsuits which require updates
- Option C: New lawsuits from the past year between January 1 and December 31 and updates on previously existing lawsuits
- Option D: New lawsuits from the past year between January 1 and December 31
If the ministry has any questions, they should reach out to their Senior Ministry Advisor who can put them in touch with FSI’s Corporate Compliance Officer.
Important Reminder
FSI would like to remind you that while all ministries are required to report lawsuit activity formally on an annual basis in the format described above, we strongly encourage CEOs to notify the Senior Ministry Advisor (SMA) and FSI Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO) at the time any lawsuit is first initiated.
