St. Joseph Academy Rolls out “Peace and Protection” During Mission and Heritage Week

At the beginning of Mission and Heritage Week, St. Joseph Academy partnered with Felician Services and the Pax Group to initiate ongoing education related to providing a peaceful and protective school environment. This collegial project, initiated months ago in collaboration among the partnering organizations, puts a focus on empowering all community members to be an active participant in a safe-school program.
The program includes visual reminders and calls to action via ongoing education to promote this peaceful school community. Students participated in designs, now emblazoned on banners, that speak to peace and protection. Students joined in a powerful gesture that shows how they feel when they feel protected. Two assemblies – one for parents and one for students – kicked off this year-long initiative.

The event offered a reflective and artistic way for these young students to connect with their faith, using art to symbolize their personal spiritual journeys.

Hopebound Ministries: Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs Releases a Butterfly from its Care

Recently, Hopebound Ministries: Mooncrest Neighborhood Program celebrated the release of its first Monarch butterfly! Thanks to Ms. Jochmann for securing a caterpillar, affectionately named Hermie by Ms. Carmen after the Max Lucado character. Students from the afterschool program watched in awe as Hermie grew from a green caterpillar to a striped Monarch before transforming into a chrysalis. When he was fully transformed, Hermie emerged as a beautiful butterfly, spending the day drying his wings before being released into the pollinator patch, accompanied by the students’ joyful rendition of the butterfly song.
