Enfield Montessori School & Chiaravalle Academy Grow Fresh Food

Enfield Montessori School and Chiarvalle Academy recently spent a day with Levo International. The school wanted to support their efforts to create environmentally and operationally sustainable solutions to growing fresh food. OLSH Sophomores Visit Byzantine Catholic Church

Recently, the sophomore class spent a Day of Reflection at St. Gregory of Nazianzus Byzantine Catholic Church in Upper St. Clair, PA. Led by Fr. Valerian Michlik, students explored the beauty and history of the Eastern Rites and experienced the Divine Liturgy, with Fr. Bill Dorner, OLSH Chaplain, concelebrating.
It was a day filled with prayer, learning, and deep appreciation for the richness of our Catholic faith. As Pope Saint John Paul II said, the Church breathes with “two lungs”—Eastern and Western—both vital and beautiful.

Villa St. Francis Welcome Fur-Babies

Recently in the Villa St. Francis lobby, two pups became “fast friends.” Lola, a friend to Villa St. Francis, got to spend some time romping around with Tuggy, a friend from Legacy Hospice Care. Villa St. Francis, in the Franciscan spirit, is pet-friendly!

St. Felix Centre Remains Pet-Friendly

Recently, four-legged friends of St. Felix Centre were the beneficiaries of gifts from Open Farm Pet Food. Open Farm generously donated 135 bags of pet food for furry friends staying at St. Felix Centre.
St. Felix Centre distributed the pet food to guests and residents at the 69 Fraser Ave and 22 Maynard Ave locations, and they were a huge hit. St. Felix Centre guests shared how much they appreciated the donations as pet food is typically a large expense for them. SFC serves their clients and their pets as so many of their clients receive comfort from their pets.

OLHP Council and FSI Board Visit Buffalo and Toronto Ministries

On an annual basis, the Our Lady of Hope Provincial Council and the Felician Services, Inc., Board of Directors meet in-person at a location where there are sponsored ministries and other community partners. During their time in the region, they like to visit the sponsored ministries, tour the facilities, and enjoy a meal with the leadership teams. This year, along with related FSI staff members who serve the ministries in the region, the group visited: Holy Name of Mary College School (HNMCS – Mississauga, ON), St. Felix Centre (SFC – Toronto, ON), Hopebound Ministries – Felician Community Services (HB: FCS – Buffalo, NY), and Villa Maria College (VMC – Buffalo, NY). The group also visited Angela’s House, an affordable housing program for seniors in the former Villa Maria Academy, and Response to Love Center (RTLC – Buffalo, NY). The Council and the Board also took the opportunity to host their April Board meeting, but strategically moved it to Sunday to make the ministry visits a priority. At that meeting, RTLC was formerly made a Felician Sponsored Ministry.
