Felician Sisters Child Care Centers celebrate Ash Wednesday
At the Felician Sisters Child Care Centers – St. Mary Child Care Center, St. Joseph Child Care Center, and Montessori Center of Our Lady (Livonia, MI) children and staff received ashes on their foreheads as the sacred prayer was spoken: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Sister Beatrice distributed ashes at St. Mary Child Care Center bringing a special sense of unity and reverence. The Centers also celebrated Fat/Shrove Tuesday with paczkis and Lenten Reflection Prayer Books, offering families a thoughtful way to enter Lent with faith and intention.
Learning Through Culture, Curiosity, and Montessori Exploration
Students from Enfield Montessori School (Enfield, CT) and the Montessori Center of Our Lady (Livonia, MI) explored a joyful variety of learning experiences. From celebrating Holi, the vibrant Hindu spring festival of colors, to engaging in early STEM‑inspired work through Care of the Environment. Together, these moments supported their growing quest for knowledge and helped shape the confident, compassionate leaders they are becoming.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School and Holy Name of Mary School Shine Bright
At Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School (Coraopolis, PA), students raised over $2000 for the Special Olympics via a Polar Plunge. Meanwhile, Holy Name of Mary College School (Mississauga, ON), Grade 8 team was awarded the bronze “Teamwork Award” for their engaging elevator pitch to demonstrate a solution to a local problem. This award comes from the Future Prize Challenge, an immersive experience where middle school students tackle real work challenges. Both schools demonstrated how shared effort, unity, and support can bring transformation and collective pride.

St. John’s Students Visit Felician Village Gardens Residents
Felician Village (Manitowoc, WI) Gardens residents recently enjoyed a lively trivia game with the St. John’s Lutheran Church and School 7th and 8th graders. Both generations learned from and uplifted one another by answering questions in the categories of Technology, Math, Household items, and Movies/TV. Through shared laughter and teamwork, the both generations discovered connections that bridged ages and perspectives.
St. Anne Home Residents Receive a Valentine’s Day Surprise
Recently on Valentine’s Day, St. Anne Home (Greensburg, PA) residents were surprised by Sam’s Club with a beautiful bouquet. This was a moment where human dignity and compassion blossomed, as each resident felt seen and cherished.
Angela Hospice Receives Heartfelt Family Letter
Angela Hospice, (Livonia, MI) received a letter from a family they recently had the honor of serving. The letter illustrates how Angela Hospice staff upheld human dignity and compassion in every moment with their mother. Through this support which carries on the great legacy of Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, the family experienced a gentle transformation, able to release the weight of caregiving and return to simply being her children.

Felician Center Inc. Host Retreat Entitled “Peace in a Chaotic World”
Felician Center’s (Kingstree, SC) Mission Integration team planned and hosted a Retreat Entitled “Peace in a Chaotic World” led by Rev. Eva Ruth, a local Presbyterian minister. Board members, staff and volunteers explored Biblical peace, Jesus’ teachings, and the sources of inner chaos. The experience offered transformation, with each participant taking home a St. Francis Peace Prayer magnet as a reminder to continue praying at home.
In honor of Catholic Sisters Week (March 8 – 14), attendees also created a ribbon of hope each adding a word or phrase of blessing for the Felician Sisters linking their messages into a chain symbolizing collective faith and in solidarity with the wider Catholic Sisters Week movement of Unbroken Hope.
Centralia Rotary Club Welcomes St. Clare Foundation for Insightful Community Presentation
St. Clare Foundation Executive Director Clare Kessler (Centralia, IL) was welcomed by Centralia Rotary President Tom Ballagh as the featured speaker for the Rotary Club’s Weekly Speaker Series. During her presentation, Ms. Kessler shared the Foundation’s origins and mission, highlighting its deep commitment to the Felician Core Values of Human Dignity and Solidarity with People in Need. She explained how the Foundation grounds its priorities in the real health needs of the local community and invests resources where they can make the greatest impact.
Deo Gratias Ministries Library Received New Books for All Ages
At Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit (Detroit, MI), the outpouring of donated books has become a beautiful expression of human dignity, ensuring that every person has access to current books for learning and recreation. Volunteers Roy and Joan joyfully sort and restock the newly revitalized library each week, creating a space where minds and spirits can be transformed through reading.
McGuire Memorial Residents Celebrated like Royalty at “A Night to Shine”
Residents of McGuire Memorial (New Brighton, PA) were honored guests at “A Night to Shine,” sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation—a celebration dedicated to uplifting and advocating for the most vulnerable. The evening beautifully reflects the Felician Core Values of Human Dignity and Compassion, as each guest was treated like royalty. Everyone entered on the red‑carpet and received crowns, got to dance, and spread joyful joyful smiles. At McGuire, every resident celebrates being wonderfully made, deeply valued, and surrounded by love.
St. Felix Centre Held Their Annual Coldest Night of the Year Event
St. Felix Centre (Toronto, ON) held their annual event the Coldest Night of the Year. With the support of Toronto Police, volunteers, sponsors, and community teams, the event honored human dignity by standing in heartfelt solidarity with the unhoused community. The walk became a powerful expression of care and shared purpose.
Commissioning New Felician Leaders
From Sunday, March 8th to Tuesday, March 10th, Felician Services welcomed three new Felician Leaders for orientation and commissioning.
FSI welcomed:
- Gail Jones: President and CEO at Felician Sisters Child Care Centers in Livonia and Pontiac, Michigan,
- Shelley Kobuck: President and CEO at St. Anne Home in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and
- Bob Sadler: Executive Director of Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit.
Following a series of orientation modules to acquaint them with the deep Felician story, the role of Sponsorship in the church, and modules on impactful ministry leadership, members of the Felician Services Executive Leadership team commissioned these leaders in the Sisters’ Chapel. Many Felician Sisters were able to participate in the commissioning either in person or via an internal television feed. FSI team members participated as well.
