Felician Sisters Child Care Centers – Inspire us to be like St. Nick!

On December 6th, the children at the Felician Sisters Child Care Centers programs awoke from a rest to discover that St. Nicholas had visited them while they napped and left them a treat in their shoes!
Under the direction of Gail Jones, Mission Leader, and Genevieve Pajulio, Assistant Mission Leader, team members carefully assembled a meaningful message from St. Nicholas and attached it to a candy cane.
The message included a reflection of the Felician Core Values for Ministry as they stated, “May their flavor sweeten our hearts with compassion and kindness,” while also calling all readers to be inspired to “be like St. Nicholas who brought comfort and joy to children and their families.”
This treat from St. Nicholas has become part of a special tradition at the Felician Sisters Child Care Centers.

OLSH Celebrates with Joyful Hearts

The OLSH community came together to celebrate the Advent Season with an Advent Prayer Service.
In the beautiful OLSH Chapel, students and faculty gathered to lift their voices in joyous celebration. The Faculty & Staff Choir filled the Advent Prayer Service with beautiful music, sending us into Christmas break with hearts full of joy and gratitude.
Phil McCarren, Mission Leader, centered the mood on Advent as he led the assembly in prayer.

Donating Christmas Cookies for Families in Need

Villa St. Francis families, employees, and the Felician Sisters, with support and leadership from Kurt Keidl, OFS, Mission Leader, baked Christmas cookies for families in need.
VSF contributed 54 dozen cookies to the 4,000 cookies needed for this project. Organized by the Secular Franciscans of St. Josaphat Fraternity, these cookies were packaged into 120 boxes as part of Christmas dinner parcels that were distributed to needy families through the St. Matthias food pantry.

St. Felix Pantry – Toy Donation Drive

With the donations of many caring community members, St. Felix Pantry was excited to open its Christmas toy store again this year. Volunteers worked in the store, like S Martha Janysek, and St. Felix Pantry was able to make dreams come true for children who might not otherwise receive much else for Christmas. The generous Christmas spirit shines on at St. Felix Pantry.

Felician Services: It’s Dough Time!

In what is sure to become a joyful Christmas tradition, the Felician Services bakers rolled out the dough at Misericordia Bakery as a service project on December 16th. Misericordia, a local ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Representatives of Misericordia joined FSI earlier that day for caroling, lunch, and to learn about their program and then later a large group of us volunteered at the bakery. The bakery profits supports the programming for the residents in the program.
