HNMCS 8th Graders Retreat

Recently, the Grade 8 students embarked on a retreat, dedicating half of their day to service at Canadian Food for Children and the other half to reflection and community at the Felician Sisters’ convent. Together, they explored what it means to be women of faith, embracing a spiritual journey that engages the mind, hands, and heart. Their hearts, indeed, were filled with joy!

Angela Hospice Celebrates the 150th Anniversary!

Angela Hospice recently shared the following:
In 1874, Mother Mary Angela Truszkowska sent five Felician Sisters across the Atlantic to North America. They arrived in Polonia, Wisconsin where the pastor of St. Joseph Parish had requested their help educating the children of Polish immigrants. Their hard work, joyfulness, and charism had a profound effect on people. As more women joined them, Felician Sisters’ ministries continued to grow across the U.S. and Canada, then in Haiti. Angela Hospice is proud to be a Felician-sponsored ministry, dedicated to carrying out the caring values of the Sisters. As we continue to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Felician Sisters in North America, we celebrate our extraordinary team, and the compassionate work they do each day. Through the mission of Angela Hospice, our team is carrying on the remarkable legacy of love the Sisters began 150 years ago. We are grateful for the Sisters’ courage, their unyielding determination in support of people in need, and the faithfulness with which they strive for peace and protecting the dignity of all people. They are a true inspiration!”

Hopebound Ministries – Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs Snowy Season

Hopebound Ministries – Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs combined the best of Mother Nature (snow!) and southwestern Pennsylvania (hills!) and took advantage of some sledding on the Mooncrest playground recently. Before the temperatures dipped too cold, children joyfully slid down the small hill and ran back up the hill with their sleds in tow, riding the little hill over and over again. As leaders from Mooncrest must have considered during this joyful, impromptu event, “You know, Father, that the main supervision of the children, their instruction and welfare have been entrusted to me. I gladly accepted that assignment.” (BL Mary Angela).
